Onipa’a

Wisdom Circles Oceania provides a Community Arts space at Onipa’a Peace March, on the grounds of Iolani palace, every January 17.

This event commemorates the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893 and to raise awareness of unresolved claims for landback and justice for the indigenous peoples of Hawaiʻi.

Lā Ho’iho’i Ea

In collaboration with various community organizations, we participate at Lā Ho’iho’i Ea every July, at Thomas Square Park.

In our Community Arts space we provide a variety of stencils, block prints, screen prints, and other art activities for the lāhui t participate in, free of charge.

La Hoʻihoʻi Ea honors the day Hawaiian sovereignty was restored to King Kamehameha III following a five-month British occupation. It was the first Hawaiian National Holiday and it is celebrated every July 31, as Sovereignty Restoration Day.
