Make sure to print at full size..the pattern goes to edges so make sure your printer doesn’t try to resize when you print.
The CDC recommends 4 layers of cotton fabric.
The back opens up so you can insert fo extra protection.
Loop your wire at the ends so it doesn’t poke through the fabric.
If you don’t want to make an open back you can just cut 4 front pieces. For this, use side seams to turn out, and fold back (to make a casing for the elastic) and sew at ⅜”. Add the elastic on the last step, pulling through the casing and knot it. Cut at 10” to add length for knot.
We sewed the wire casing to the inside of the top lining piece along top..about 1/2” down from edge. We used 18-20 gauge wire inside...saw some people use twist tie and pipe cleaner (kinda lightweight tho) and paper clip (a little owie to curve onto nose)
*The CDC has recommended wearing homemade face masks at this time due to limited quality of N95 masks. Please note this is not meant to replace an N95 mask.
