We are partnering with Kinai ‘Eha to offer art + ʻāīna programming for ʻōpio Kanaka coming from Ko’olaupoko. We continue to be steadfast in our support for Lāhainā fire survivors, with residential spaces programming, as well as providing monthly wellness spaces for the dedicated community organizers on the ground. We’re launching our Kukulu Pānānā series in Lāhainā with Hui o Waʻa Kaulua - where youth explore artistic techniques + hana noʻeau like sketching, stencil making, printing, and textile design to create their own star compass. A process to connect purpose with the guidance of past, present, and future. We recently attended the Gender Journeys conference, where we learned + connected with keiki, schools and health advocates to further uplift the voices of māhū and LGBTQIA+ ‘ōpio in our communities, deepening our understanding of how the arts support expansive gender expression and healing.
